actually hardly ever. its been years since I felt a quake. normally when I was young you'd get a feeler every year nothing disastrous but a feeler. I'm sure we've had some small ones but never felt them. they have always said the big one was coming, but mostly in reference to the capital wellington which is on a major fault line........ yeh we are on the "pacific rim of fire"
