The new player allows you to pick the video playback settings that best suit your pc hardware and internet connection speed.
You can pick the video quality, from lowest to highest: SD Light, SD Medium, SD High, HD and TrueLife HD.
You can also chose the streaming method: HTTP and RTMP.

Q: Why so many choices? I just want to watch porn!
A: The default settings are good enough for most users so you don’t HAVE to play with the settings. But, if you are experiencing bad streaming quality, video choppiness, slow seek time or if the video isn’t loading for you, picking a different video quality or streaming method will likely help. And best of all, you won’t have to post a comment on the forum and wait for it to be solved. The solution is in your hands!
Q: Why would I want to stream anything lower than TrueLife HD?
A: The TrueLife HD mode plays the scene in full HD at a very high bit rate (around 4 Mbits/sec). This will give you the best possible quality but requires a high speed Internet connection and very good hardware (recent CPU and graphics card). If you are experiencing a choppy stream or your computer is becoming unresponsive, it might be better to try a lower bit rate movie.
Q: What’s HTTP and RTMP?
A: They are both internet protocols used to send and receive information on the web. HTTP is the most popular method to send content on the internet. It’s the protocol used by Youtube.com and most free video websites. RTMP is a proprietary protocol built by Macromedia optimized for video streaming. It is used mostly by subscription based websites. It’s the protocol we’ve always used in the member’s area.
Q: When to use HTTP vs. RTMP?
A: You can try both and pick the one that is giving you the best experience. HTTP’s main advantage is the video will keep buffering (downloading) when the player is on pause. So if your connection is slow or unreliable, you can pause the movie, wait for it to buffer and then enjoy a smooth streaming. RTMP on the other hand offers a faster seek time (or skip ahead time) and is less demanding on your hard drive. RTMP is recommended if you have a fast internet connection and like to stream in HD or if you’re using a laptop/netbook with a slow hard drive.
Q: Will this solve all the streaming problems we’ve been seeing in the past?
A: There are many variables involved in streaming thousands of HD files simultaneously across the globe and each one can fail independently and cause a bad streaming experience.
